SIOUX FALLS – USF volleyball falls to (#4) St. Cloud State in four sets as they move to 9-5 on the season and 5-2 in conference play.
USF vs St. Cloud State (19-25, 21-25, 25-22, 21-25)
· Attack: USF was led by freshman outside hitter, Courtney Holsteen with 13 kills and Brooklynne Albrecht with 10 kills and a .588 attacking percentage.
· Service Line: Caitlin Kellner led the Cougars with four aces on the day and 18 digs. Jordyn Hamm and Nicole Jacobson each had two aces on the night.
· Team Effort: The Cougars were led by Elise Gillen (23) and Davis Guetterman with 22 assists on the evening with Gillen collecting 13 digs as well.
· Standing Tall: Jordan Kuper led USF with six total blocks followed by Sadie Voss (3) and Courtney Holsteen, Grace Hanel and Jordyn Hamm with two blocks on the night.
Overall
· USF was able to take a set away from St. Cloud, which doesn't happen often for the Huskies. Prior to tonight's match, the Huskies had won 39 sets this season and had only given up four sets with three of those coming from a 3-0 loss to (#1) Wayne State.
· SCSU has held their opponents to a .135 attacking percentage this season; however, Sioux Falls was able to put up a .198 attacking percentage against the Huskies.
· Sioux Falls took St. Cloud to four sets for the second time all season.
