STEVENS POINT, WIS. – Sioux Falls Women's Wrestling opened their inaugural season at the Pointer Open hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. The Cougars had two place winners in Rei Ogden and Brinley Green while securing a fifth place team finish.
Aliyah Villarreal opened the day with the first win in program history after defeating Leila Kollasch from Iowa Lakes Community College by fall in 1:34 at 155-pounds. Villarreal finished 3-2 on the day with two pins and a forfeit.
Ogden earned consolation champ honors at 123-pounds after going 5-1 on the day with four pins and a tech fall.
Green went 3-3 at 143-pounds to earn sixth place with two tech falls and a decision victory.
Sioux Falls will be back in action next weekend when they head to Forest City, Iowa to partake in the Waldorf Open hosted by Waldorf University.
