SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The University of Sioux Falls Women's Basketball team along with head coach Travis Traphagen are pleased to announce the addition of three individuals to their 2024-25 roster.
"Our staff here at USF couldn't be more excited about this 2024 recruiting class," stated Traphagen. "All three of these young ladies were an early priority in the recruiting process for us and all three are amazing basketball players and people! They will only help the culture that we are trying to build within the women's basketball program as well as being representatives of the USF campus community."
Anna Vaaler, Shooting Guard, Andover High School
Anna joins the Cougars from Andover, Minnesota where she attended Andover High School and competed for Minnesota Fury. Anna racked up 753 points, 402 rebounds, 115 assists, and 89 steals for the Huskies. Her success on the court earned her Northwest Suburban All Conference her junior year and Honorable Mention her sophomore year. In high school, Anna also played softball and was a member of the National Honor Society. Daughter of Kelly and David Vaaler, Anna plans on studying Exercise Science at USF.
"Anna is a flat out scorer of the basketball. Coming from a great program in Andover High School, she has the ability to be a mis-match for a lot of teams. Being a 5'11 forward, one of her best attributes is her ability to shoot the basketball from deep but also can use her size and strength to her advantage to post as well. I couldn't have been more excited when she chose to be a Cougar!"

Drew Buslee, Point Guard, Eagan High School
Drew comes to USF from Eagan, Minnesota where she attended Eagan High School and competed for the Metro Stars. Drew was a three sport athlete in high school, participating in tennis, basketball and softball. In tennis, she earned All-Conference three times, Honorable Mention once, and got third place in the individual section finish. Anna was a two time All Conference softball player and also received Honorable Mention once. On the court, Drew averaged 12 points per game and earned All Conference three times as well as Honorable Mention once. Daughter of Tom and Alex Buslee, Drew plans to major in Education at USF.
"Drew is a scoring combo type guard and comes to us from Eagan High School. One of the first things that stuck out to me when recruiting her is the confidence that she plays with! The best compliment that I can give Drew is that when she is on the floor, she just makes everyone around her better. Her primary position will be point guard, but definitely has the ability to play off the ball as well. I believe she could be an amazing player in the NSIC for her future."

She was also All Mississippi 8 Conference in 2019-2022 and All-State Academic in 2021-2023. On the court, Alexis averaged 12.5 points per game, 3 rebounds per game, 3 assists per game, and 3.5 steals per game. She also earned most dedicated in the 2021-2022 season, All Mississippi 8 Conference, All-State Academic, and Scholar Athlete in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. Daughter of Kelly and Shaun Rose, Alexis plans on studying Biology at USF.
"Alexis is a long wing type player and can flat out score the basketball. She comes from a great high school program that really does a great job of developing their players and having them ready for the collegiate level. At 5'10 she can play any position and has the ability to come to USF and be an immediate contributor. I will always remember she verbally committed to us when I was on vacation in Phoenix! Will always be one of my favorite vacations with the news I got."
