Colorado Springs, CO. – The University of Sioux Falls Baseball team dropped two games to UCCS today. First game was 13-3 and the second game was 5-2.
WHAT HAPPENED
· In game 1, the Cougars were outhit 15-9, but had 12 men left on base.
· Game 2 was low scoring, and the Coo only gave up runs in 1 inning. UCCS was able to push across 5 runs in the 4th inning which turned out to be the difference.
· The Cougars were able to score 2 runs in game 2 despite only having 1 hit for the game.
SIOUX FALLS LEADERS
· In game 1, Noah Christenson, Ben Serie, Rhett Zelinsky, and David Swanson all led the Coo with 2 hits each.
· Noah Christenson had the lone hit for the Cougars in game 2.
· Logan Anderson and Derek Lundgren combined to give up no runs and only 1 hit in 2 1/3 innings pitched in the second game.
UP NEXT
The Cougars will be back in action tomorrow against UCCS. The Coo will play a doubleheader with the first game starting at 11am and the second game starting at 2pm. All games are being played in Colorado Springs.
