Colorado Springs, CO. – The University of Sioux Falls Baseball team dropped two games to UCCS today. First game was 11-9 and the second game ended up 18-14. Game 2 was called after 6 innings due to darkness.
WHAT HAPPENED
· In game 1, the Cougars were outhit 13-12.
· The Coo held an early 4-0 lead after 2 innings in game 1. Two 4 run innings by UCCS put USF behind.
· In game 2, the Cougars outhit UCCS 15-13. Again, USF jumped out early to a 5 run lead after 2 innings, but an 8 run 3rd helped put UCCS ahead.
SIOUX FALLS LEADERS
· In game 1, Tyler Cate and David Swanson led USF with 3 hits each.
· Noah Christenson paced the Cougars with 4 hits in game 2.
· Jack Gray had the most strikeouts on the Cougar pitching staff recording 4 in game 2.
UP NEXT
The Cougars will be back in action March 8 in Auburndale, FL. The Coo will take on Wilmington in a doubleheader to start off the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational.
