St. George, KS. – The University of Sioux Falls Baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader to Minot State. The Beavers won game 1 10-3 and game 2 12-4.
WHAT HAPPENED
· USF had a 2-1 lead going into the top of the 6th, but Minot scored 7 runs in that inning to pull ahead and never look back.
· Grayson Skinner started game 1 and gave the Coo 8 strikeouts in 5 and 2/3 innings of work.
· In game 2, Minot jumped on the Cougars early. Scoring 4 runs in the 2nd inning and adding 2 runs each in the 4th and 5th innings.
SIOUX FALLS LEADERS
· Noah Christenson and Dane Small each hit home runs in game 1 The Coo. Isaac Bonner hit a solo shot in game 2 as well.
· Brady Klehr led USF with 2 hits in game 1. Dane Small and Isaac Bonner paced the Cougars in game 2 with 2 hits.
· Jayden Dierenfeld came out of the bullpen to throw 2 shutout innings while only giving up 1 hit.
UP NEXT
The Cougars will be back in action tomorrow Monday March 20. They take on Minot State in the final game of the series being held in St. George, KS. This single game will start at noon.
