KANSAS CITY, MO – The University of Sioux Falls volleyball team began their 2023 campaign with a 3-1 defeat to Rockhurst.
USF vs ROCKHURST (17-25, 21-25, 25-22, 29-27)
· Attack: USF landed 58 total kills. They were led by Sadie Voss with 22 and Courtney Holsteen with 10.
· Service Line: Jordyn Hamm totaled 4 aces and Elise Gillen added 3.
· Team Effort: Elise Gillen (35) led the Cougars in assists while Davis Guetterman chipped in 14 of her own. Sadie Voss led USF with 15 digs while Caitlin Kellner and Elise Gillen each added 12.
· Standing Tall: Jordan Kuper led the Coo with 5 blocks and Jordyn Hamm followed up with 4 of her own.
Overall
· Sadie Voss stole the show for USF in this match. She had 22 kills to lead both teams and had a hitting percentage of .340. The only other player with a higher percentage was USF's Jordan Kuper who had 8 kills but hit .353.
· The Cougars will be back in action today! They take on Emporia State University at 10:00AM and William Jewell College at 2:00PM. Both of these matches will be played in Liberty, MO at the Mabee Center on the campus of William Jewell.
