SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Following the past weekend's performances, USF Athletics is pleased to announce Paige Denke as Female Athlete of the Week and Noah Puetz as Male Athlete of the Week.

Denke had a standout weekend for USF Women's Wrestling. The Cougars defeated Minot State 42-6 and lost their first dual of the year 26-22 to Jamestown. Paige went 2-0 on the day with 2 10-0 tech. falls. She defeated Minot State's Skye Shelmerdine and Jamestown's Jenna Gerhardt to advance to 8-2 on the year. Cougar Women's Wrestling is back in action tonight as they host the University of Iowa in the Stewart Center starting at 6:00PM. 

Puetz had an all around weekend for USF Men's Basketball. He helped lead the team to a 2-0 weekend defeating Northern State on Friday 82-76 and then UMary on Saturday 81-56. Noah had 21 points and 10 rebounds against Northern in 36 minutes which were all season highs. He also accounted for 2 steals and 3 assists against the Wolves. On Saturday, he had 11 points, 5 assists, and shot 50% from the field in 27 minutes of action. Noah is averaging 9.9 points, 2.2 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game for the Coo. Catch USF Basketball back in action this weekend as they host Winona State on Friday and then Minnesota State Mankato on Saturday in the Stewart Center.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS

• Tyler Hiatt stole the show for USF Track and Field this weekend. He won the Weight Throw at the USD Alumni Meet with a National Provisional throw of 18.45m. He also won the Shot Put with another National Provisional throw of 16.47m.

•  Emily Swanson also had a standout weekend for USF Track and Field at the Mark Shuck Open in Mankato. She won the High Jump at 1.61m and got 3rd in the Long Jump at 5.39m. Swanson also got 2nd in the 60m Hurdles with a National Provisional time of 8.82.

• Caleb Rivera won the 800m run for USF Track and Field at the Mark Shuck Open in Mankato. His time of 1:53.95 is a National Provisional mark and is the 3rd best time in USF history.

• Annika Aho got 2nd in the Women's 1000m run at the Mark Shuck Open in Mankato. Her time of 2:58.86 is the 5th best time in USF history.

• Kamry Lindsey had a National Provisional toss in the Weight Throw for USF Track and Field at the USF Alumni Meet. Her throw of 7.28m is 5th best in USF history and her throw of 13.06 in the Shot Put is 8th best in school history.

• Teila Peters had a solid weekend for USF Women's Wrestling. She went 2-0 on the weekend. She came from behind to defeat Minot's Bella Hernandez in a 2:42 fall. Peters also defeated Jamestown's Marissa Burt in an 8-5 decision to move her to 13-7 on the year.

• Brinley Green also had a good weekend for USF Women's Wrestling. She went 2-0 on the weekend. Against Minot State she secured an 11-7 decision over Haleigh Lematta. Then vs. UMary she pinned Kaylee Narlock to move to 12-8 on the season. 

• Kylie Wroblewski had a solid weekend performance for USF Women's Basketball. She scored 12 points in both games and was the leading scorer for the Cougars against UMary on Saturday. She tied for the team high with 6 rebounds vs. Northern on Friday. She had a team high 12 points and 7 rebounds against UMary and she played a season high 30 minutes. 

• Ayla Brown filled the stat sheet all weekend for USF Women's Basketball. She had 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists in 34 minutes of action against Northern State. She had 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in 37 minutes of action. She had the most minutes played of any USF player over these two games. 

• Jack Thompson had a standout weekend for USF Men's Basketball. He helped lead USF to a 2-0 weekend. Thompson had 25 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds in 39 minutes of action vs. Northern State. On Saturday, he had 13 points against UMary. 

• Kyle Ingwerson also had a standout weekend for USF Men's Basketball. He had 16 points in 26 minutes against Northern State. He was the top scorer for both teams on Saturday vs. UMary. He had 18 points and a game high 7 rebounds in just 18 minutes of action.
