Four Cougars Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls Men's Basketball team placed four student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, recognizing their success both on the court and in the classroom.

Taylen Ashley, Camden Davis, Brandon Hrncir, and Jacoby Mehrman each earned the distinction by meeting CSC's criteria, which requires a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA along with significant athletic participation. The honor reflects a strong balance of academic discipline and on-court impact, with each Cougar playing a meaningful role throughout the 2025-26 season.


Taylen Ashley | Guard | Computer Science

Taylen Ashley HeadshotAshley combined high-level production with academic excellence in his redshirt sophomore season. The Sioux Falls native finished the season with 415 total points and averaged 16.0 points per game while starting 24 of 26 contests. He shot 43.3 percent from the field and connected on 51 three-pointers at a 34.9 percent clip.

Beyond scoring, Ashley contributed 82 assists and averaged 3.2 assists per game, while also adding 3.7 rebounds per contest. He recorded 17 steals and consistently impacted games as both a scorer and facilitator.

Ashley delivered one of the top individual performances of the season with a 36-point outing against Augustana, where he knocked down seven three-pointers. He added multiple 30-point performances down the stretch, including a 30-point effort against Wayne State and a 30-point showing in the NSIC Tournament against Wayne State. His ability to produce in high-pressure moments and maintain efficiency throughout the year made him a key piece of the Cougars' offense.


Camden Davis | Forward | Exercise Science

Davis provided valuable minutes and continued development during his redshirt freshman campaign while maintaining strong academic standing in Exercise Science. He appeared in 30 games and made three starts, averaging 4.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.

He finished the season with 116 rebounds and shot 41.3 percent from the field. Davis showed flashes of his potential with efficient scoring performances and strong work on the glass.

His top performance came against Augustana, where he recorded a 21-point, 12-rebound double-double, hitting five three-pointers in the contest. He also added six blocks and seven steals on the season, showcasing his ability to contribute defensively. Davis' continued growth and versatility were important factors in the Cougars' depth throughout the season.


Brandon Hrncir | Forward | Business Administration

Hrncir paired consistent production on the court with success in the classroom as a Business Administration major. The sophomore forward averaged 13.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 50.4 percent from the field across 28 games.

He totaled 371 points and 161 rebounds, leading the team in rebounding and providing a steady interior presence. Hrncir also added 50 assists and knocked down 20 three-pointers, highlighting his ability to stretch the floor and create opportunities for teammates.

He posted several standout performances, including a 23-point effort against Minnesota State and a 22-point outing at Minnesota Duluth where he hit five three-pointers. Hrncir also recorded a season-high 13 rebounds against Minnesota Crookston. His efficiency, physicality, and versatility made him one of the most reliable contributors for Sioux Falls.


Jacoby Mehrman | Guard | Business Administration

Mehrman delivered a strong all-around season while excelling academically as a Business Administration major. The sophomore guard averaged 7.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, shooting an impressive 58.0 percent from the field.

He totaled 233 points, 134 rebounds, and 70 assists while leading the team with 40 steals. His defensive activity and ability to impact multiple areas of the game were key components of his role.

Mehrman recorded a season-high 19 points against Winona State and pulled down a season-best 12 rebounds against St. Cloud State. He also added multiple games with five or more assists, including a six-assist performance at Bemidji State. His efficiency, toughness, and defensive presence helped anchor the Cougars throughout the season.


The CSC Academic All-District honor highlights student-athletes who excel in the classroom while competing at a high level. Sioux Falls' four selections reflect the program's continued commitment to academic achievement and competitive success.
