SIOUX FALLS, SD. - Cougar Soccer was defeated by Augustana today 2-1.
Macie Haggerty scored the first goal for the Vikings when she opened the scoring in the 17th minute. USF equalized in the 49th minute when Mariah Siem's header found the back of the net. Mariah's goal was assisted by a perfect corner taken by Sarah Miller. Augustana pulled ahead to ultimately put the game away in the 57th minute when Ally Hamski scored from the penalty spot.
USF had 11 shots with 7 of them being on goal while Augustana had 16 shots with 10 being on goal.
Caroline Titze started in goal for USF and played the whole match. Titze recorded 8 saves.
The Cougars committed 10 fouls compared to 13 for the Vikings. Augustana's Makenzie Nelson was shown a yellow card in the 78th minute while USF's Julia Bowman was also cautioned with a yellow card in the 89th minute.
The Coo will be back in action on Friday October 25. They will host Minnesota Duluth at Bob Young Field starting at 7PM.
