Duluth, Minn. - The University of Sioux Falls Men's Basketball team fell to Minnesota Duluth 78-76. USF moves to 12-12 and 9-9 in NSIC play.
The Cougars came out hot on the offensive end. They won the first half 41-36 while shooting 54% from the field and 40% from behind the 3 point line. Duluth started slowly on offense as they were down 17-5 at one point. They were able to bounce back and finish the half shooting 42% from the field and 33% from behind the arc. USF won the rebounding battle 19-14 and did not trail during the first half.
In the second half the Cougars couldn't quite hold on. USF continued their hot shooting from the first half as they shot 45% from the field and 44% from the 3 point line. UMD did not make a 3 in the second half but shot 54% from the field to complete the comeback. The Cougars led the entire game until Duluth took the lead for the first time with 2:03 to play. USF won the rebounding battle 34-30, had 15 assists as a team, and got 32 points off the bench. Duluth made their living in the paint as they outscored USF in points in the paint 52-36 and also forced 16 USF turnovers.
LEADERS
Shawn Warrior paced the Cougars in scoring tonight with 18 points. Kyle Ingwerson added 16 off the bench and Jack Thompson poured in 15 points.
Zane Alm led both teams in rebounding with 7 boards. Josh Baker and Warrior each added 5 rebounds. Warrior also had a game high 3 steals.
Jack Thompson dished out a game high 7 assists. Baker and Warrior each added 2 assists as well. Thompson played a team high 37 minutes and Warrior also played 32 minutes.

The Cougars will be back in action Friday February 16. They will be in Bemidji to take on Bemidji State starting at 7:30PM.
