St. Cloud, Minn. - The University of Sioux Falls Men's Basketball team fell to St. Cloud State 70-68.
The Cougars again came out hot on the offensive end. They won the first half 37-29 while shooting 43% from the field and 30% from behind the 3 point line. USF was locked in defensively as well, holding SCSU to 35% shooting from the field and 3-10 from the 3 point line. The Cougars got their lead up to 15 at one point in the first half.Â
St. Cloud State was able to turn on the offense in the 2nd half. The Huskies shot 48% from the field and went 3-8 from the 3 point line. The Cougars cooled off a bit on the offensive end shooting 37% from the field and 5-12 on 3 point attempts. SCSU won the 2nd half 41-31 to clip USF by 2. The Huskies won the rebounding battle 37-32. USF had 26 points in the paint compared to 24 for SCSU and USF had 15 points off of Husky turnovers.Â
LEADERS
Noah Puetz led USF in scoring with 16 points. Jack Thompson added 15 points and Kyle Ingwerson chipped in 12.Â
Josh Baker led The Coo in rebounding with 6 boards. Shawn Warrior and Puetz each added 5 rebounds as well. Puetz also posted a season high 3 steals.Â
Shawn Warrior led the Cougars in assists with a season high 6. Puetz played a season high 36 minutes to lead USF.  Â
