Sioux Falls, S.D. - The University of Sioux Falls Men's Basketball team fell to Minnesota Moorhead 82-70.
The Cougars and Dragons played a tight first half. USF struggled at times offensively and Moorhead was able to take advantage with their consistent play. MSUM took the first period 39-33 while shooting 48% from the field and 4-8 on 3 point attempts. The Cougars struggled from behind the arc in the first half going 1-6 and also shooting 48% from the field. The largest lead for either team in the first half was 6 by Moorhead.
The second half was more of the same from both teams. Moorhead used steady play to win the 2nd period 43-37. The Dragons shot 53% from the field and 2-5 from 3 point range. The Cougars were able to turn up the offense a little but ultimately it was not enough. USF shot 56% from the field and 3-8 on 3s in the second half. MSUM had 44 points in the paint compared to USF with 34. The Cougars got 9 points off of Dragon turnovers and 13 points off the bench.
LEADERS
Jack Thompson led USF in scoring with 19. Shawn Warrior added 15 points as well. Noah Puetz and Kyle Ingwerson each chipped in 11 points.Â
Josh Baker led The Coo in rebounding with 5 boards. Shawn Warrior, Kyle Ingwerson, and Jake Kettner each added 3 rebounds.
Noah Puetz had a game high 5 assists. Ingwerson and Warrior each added 2 assists. Thompson played a team high 33 minutes.   Â

The Cougars will be back in action tomorrow against Minot State. USF will tip off at 5:30PM for Senior Day in the Stewart Center.Â
