Rolla, MO. - The University of Sioux Falls Baseball team picked up a win today. They defeated Missouri S&T 16-5. Highlighted by a 6 run 7th inning for the Cougars.
Reese Gaber got the start for USF on the mound. He gave the Coo a strong start going 5 innings and allowing just 3 runs. He also picked up 5 strikeouts along the way. The USF Bullpen did a great job in relief, combining to only give up 2 runs and record 7 strikeouts. Derek Lundgren threw 2 innings, Zachary Shastay tossed 1 inning, Daniel Clark went 0.1, and Jake Brandner accounted for 0.2 innings.
The Cougars had the bats going early and often today. They totaled 11 hits, 12 RBI, and 10 walks. Dane Small and Ben Serie each recorded 3 hits to lead USF. Small went 3-6 with a homerun, 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI. Serie also went 3-6 at the plate with a double and a triple and had 2 RBI. Noah Christenson also had 2 hits and scored 4 runs while also driving in 2 runs. Brady Klehr, Isaac Bonner, and Noah Buss each recorded a hit on the day as well.
