Rolla, MO. - The University of Sioux Falls Baseball team split a doubleheader today against Missouri S&T. USF won the first game 5-3 and MS&T took game 2 11-8.
GAME 1
Jake Ammann got the start for USF and gave the Coo a solid outing. He threw 4 innings and only gave up 2 runs while recording 4 strikeouts. Brady Baur came in from the USF Bullpen and threw 3 innings picking up the win. Baur did not give up a run and tallied 3 strikeouts. Logan Anderson came on to pick up his second save of the season, throwing 1 inning and picking up 1 strikeout.
The Cougar bats were held in check for most of the game. The Coo totaled 8 hits, 5 RBI, and 4 strikeouts. Isaac Bonner and Ryan Gouldin each recorded 2 hits to lead USF. Bonner also scored 2 runs and Gouldin picked up 2 RBI. David Swanson, Dane Small, Ben Serie, and Tyler Cate all had 1 hit for the game.
GAME 2
Dylan Immel got the start for USF in game 2. He gave up 5 runs in 3 innings of work and picked up 2 strikeouts. The Cougar Bullpen of Reid Barnard, Jake Pruchniak, and Myles Rees combined to throw 3 innings, gave up 5 runs, and recorded 4 strikeouts.
The USF bats woke up in the second game. Ryan Gouldin, Isaac Bonner, Ben Serie, and David Swanson all had 2 hits. Noah Christenson, Dane Small, Noah Buss, and Tyler Cate all added in a hit as well. Christenson and Gouldin led USF in RBI with 2 each. The Cougars overall had 8 RBI, 12 hits, and 10 men left on base.
