BURNSVILLE, MINN. – The NSIC announced their weekly Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week. USF's Owen Weadge was picked as this week's NSIC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Weadge had a dominant outing on Sunday against Missouri S&T. The Redshirt Freshman threw a complete game shutout while only giving 1 hit all game. Owen recorded 8 strikeouts on the day. In his 9 innings of work he gave up only 1 hit, 1 walk, and 1 HBP. He Induced 11 flyball outs and five ground ball outs through his 27 batters faced. Weadge picked up the win and improved his record to 1-1 and brought his ERA down to 3.65.
USF Baseball has gotten off to a hot start. They split 4 games in Denver against MSU Denver and then won 3 games out of 4 against Missouri S&T.
The Cougars are back in action on Friday March 8. They will be taking on Minnesota Crookston in a 4 game series. These games will be taking place in Auburndale, FL from March 8-March 10.
