Sioux Falls, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls Athletics Department would like to announce the 2024 USF Baseball home schedule. All USF Baseball home games are played at Sioux Falls Stadium.
The Cougars will host 23 home games this season. Starting off with 2 doubleheaders against Minnesota Duluth this weekend. A highlight of the home schedule for USF Baseball starts with a weekend series against Minot State on the weekend of April 13. The Beavers finished 6th in the conference last year. Then USF will host Minnesota State in a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday April 17. The Mavericks finished 2nd in the NSIC last year. The Cougars finish off their home schedule with a weekend series against Winona State on the weekend of April 27. April 28 against Winona is Senior Day for USF Baseball.
USF finished last season 12th in the conference. The Cougars return their top 8 hitters from a year ago. Leading that lineup is outfielder Brady Klehr who hit .394 last season and is off to a fast start again this year. Dane Small has been another key cog in a lineup that has been producing well all year. Small leads the team in Average at .341, OPS at 1.158, RBI with 12, Total Bases with 31, Homeruns with 3, On-Base percentage at .453, and slugging at .705. Outfielder David Swanson leads USF in hits with 16. On the mound, USF has been led by starters Owen Weadge and Rees Gaber and shutdown Bullpen. Weadge has already been named NSIC Pitcher of the Week after throwing a 1 hit shutout against Missouri S&T. Gaber has 2 wins on the year and a 1.80 whip. Out of the pen USF has 3 pitchers, Jake Brandner, Garrett Oswald, and Derek Lundgren that have 0.00 ERAs. Logan Anderson leads USF in saves with 2 and boasts a 1.69 ERA so far this season.
For the first time admission will be charged for fans attending home games. USF Students/Faculty/Staff will still be allowed to attend for free. Ticket prices for home baseball games will be $10 for an adult, $5 for a senior, and $5 for students (K-12). Fans will be able to purchase tickets using either cash or card.
