SIOUX CENTER, IOWA - Cougar Softball closed out the weekend with a series sweep over the University of Mary Marauders. USF advances to 11-14 on the season and 2-2 in the NSIC following an 8-0 and 6-2 nod over the Marauders. Following a total team effort night, freshman Riley Schwisow hit for the cycle with a single, double, triple and homerun on the evening.

GAME 1 - W, 8-0 (5 INNINGS)
USF jumped on the board first when Amber McKinney singled up the middle in the first to score Schwisow. Rylee Riesberg recorded a sacrifice fly for an RBI in Megan Lawson just before Schwisow cleared the bases with a 2-run triple to finish the second.
Hannah Fry jumped in with a 2-run double in the fourth to score Alannah Naumann and Schwisow before Naumann closed out the game with a 2 RBI double in the fifth.
Four Cougars recorded doubles in game one along with Schwisows triple. Sioux Falls was dominate on the base path with four stolen bases in just five innings played.
Maddi Duncan advances to 9-4 on the year with a complete game and shutout performance. The sophomore recorded seven strikeouts while giving up just three hits on the night in 18 batters faced.
GAME 2 - W, 6-2
Mary scored two in the first inning before USF responded and then some. Taryn Wagner recorded a sac fly to score Naumann in the bottom of the first.
Schwisow went yard with a 2-run shot to left field in the third followed by a solo homer off the bat of Naumann in the fifth.Â
Damaris Cuevas reached base on an error resulting in McKinney crossing the plate just before Meghan Jochimsen tripled to left field to score Kenzie Raymond.
In game two, the Coo had two homeruns, two doubles and a triple closing out the night with a total of six doubles, two triples and two homeruns.
Campbell Petrick picked up her second win of the season, throwing a complete game with one strikeout, one walk and five hits in 27 batters faced.
UP NEXT
The Cougars will head north to take on Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston next weekend, pending weather. USF will take on BSU March 29 at 1 & 3pm followed by Crookston on March 30 at 12 & 2pm.Â
