Cougar Basketball Adds Abby Phipps to 2024-25 Roster

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - USF Women's Basketball, along with head coach Travis Traphagen, are excited to announce the addition of transfer forward Aby Phipps. 

"We are excited to add Aby to our roster next season," stated Traphagen. "She's an outstanding addition to the program that I know will make an immediate impact and we can't wait to get to work preparing for next season." 

Phipps joins Sioux Falls after spending the past four seasons at Augustana University. The 6-foot senior is a three-time NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence member and a CSC Academic All-District Team member. 

On the court, Phipps recorded 534 career points with the Vikings averaging 6.1 points in 87 games. The Harrisburg native shot 38.1% from the field, 20.5% from beyond the arc and 70.6% from the line. While averaging 3.7 boards per game, Phipps also recorded 114 career assists, 31 blocks and 69 steals. 

Prior to beginning her collegiate career, Phipps was a three-year starter for the Harrisburg Tigers where she helped lead her team to a third and second place state tournament finish her junior year and sophomore year, respectively. She is a two-time ESD All-Conference athlete as well as an honorable mention selection. Phipps was also named to the South Dakota State All-Tournament Team, earned All-State honors and was named a Sanford Pentagon All-Star.
