Four Cougars Set to Compete at the NCWWC National Tournament

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The University of Sioux Falls Women's Wrestling team is sending four individuals to the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships (NCWWC) this weekend, March 8-9.

Teila Peters, McKenna Hendrickson, Brinley Green and Zoe Adam all punched their tickets to the National Tournament last weekend at the Region VI Tournament in Denton, Texas. The four are the first wrestlers in program history to advance to the national stage.

Peters currently sits 22-13 on the season with 10 tech falls, seven falls and two decisions. The  freshman from Buffalo, Wyoming has recorded 220 match points on the year for USF along with a 5th place at the Bronco Women's Open and 4th place finish at the Grand View Open and NCWWC Region VI. Peters will compete at 130-pounds for Sioux Falls.

Hendrickson will compete at 136-pounds for the Coo and currently sits 18-16 on the season. She's recorded 163 match points for USF with 11 falls, five decisions and two tech falls. Hendrickson is a freshman out of Grand Meadow, Minnesota and has recorded a 7th place finish at the Bronco Women's Open along with a 3rd place finish last weekend at the Regional Tournament.

At 143-pounds, Brinley Green will represent the Cougars following a 2nd place finish last weekend. The Rawlins, Wyoming freshman has compiled a season record of 24-12 while recording 257 match points with 11 tech falls, eight decisions and four falls for USF. Throughout the season thus far, Green recorded a 6th place finish at the Pointer Women's Open, a 5th place finish at the Bronco Women's Open, a 3rd place finish at the Midland Warrior Open, a 2nd place finish at the NCWWC Region VI and a 1st place finish at the Grand View Open.

Zoe Adam closes out the lineup for USF at 191-pounds with a season record of 28-9. The freshman from Canton, South Dakota has accrued 168 match points throughout the season with 18 falls, six tech falls and four accepted forfeits. Adam recorded a 4th place finish at the Waldorf Open, Midland Warrior Open and the NCWWC Region VI along with first place finishes at the Bronco Women's Open and the Grand View Open.
