Auburndale, FL. - The University of Sioux Falls Baseball team split a doubleheader with Minnesota Crookston today. USF won game 1 5-4 and UMC took game 2 13-5
GAME 1
Jake Ammann got the start for USF and went 4.0 innings. He gave up 1 unearned run and recorded 4 strikeouts. Zachary Shastay came in from the USF bullpen and threw 0.1 innings giving up 2 earned runs. Logan Anderson picked up his first win of the year going 0.2 innings. Garrett Oswald threw 2.0 innings and picked up the save giving up no runs and recording 2 strikeouts.
The Cougar bats were led by Tyler Cate and Mitch Iliff who each had 2 hits. Cate also recorded a run scored and 2 RBI. Iliff had 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Noah Christenson, Dane Small, and Brady Klehr each had 1 hit on the day.
GAME 2
Dylan Immel got the start for USF and went 1.2 innings. He gave up 7 hits and 8 earned runs. Brady Baur came in from the Cougar Bullpen and threw 3.1 innings giving up 2 earned runs and picking up 4 strikeouts. Freshman Myles Rees also came on from the USF Bullpen and gave the Coo a solid outing. He went 2.0 innings of shutout baseball giving up just 1 hit and recording 5 strikeouts. Mason Leonard finished the game for USF going 1.0 innings and giving up 3 runs with 2 of them being earned.
At the plate the Cougars were led again by Tyler Cate. He picked up another 2 hits to give him 4 for the day. He also had 2 walks and 2 RBI. Dane Small hit a homerun in the first inning to get USF on the board. Brady Klehr and David Swanson each had a hit as well. Small, Swanson, and Isaac Bonner accounted for the other 3 RBI for USF.

The Cougars are back in action tomorrow. They will take on Minnesota Crookston in a single game beginning at 6:00PM CT in Auburndale, FL.
