Sioux Falls, S.D. - The University of Sioux Falls Baseball team lost to Minot State today. The Beavers and Cougars played a single game with Minot coming out on top 18-12.
Owen Weadge got the start for USF on the mound and went 3.0 innings. The Cougars used 7 pitchers in this game. Weadge allowed 6 hits and 4 earned runs. Grayson Skinner came in next for 1 inning and gave up 1 run. Jake Brandner threw the next inning and gave up 3 hits and 3 earned runs. Derek Lundgren was next and threw 2.0 innings giving up only 1 run. Logan Anderson threw 1.1 innings and gave up 5 earned runs. Garrett Oswald threw 0.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Tyler Maeyaert 0.1 innings and did not allow a run or hit.
At the plate, the Cougars were led by Tyler Cate who had 4 hits on the day. He also accounted for 3 RBI, which led USF, and 1 run scored. Dane Small had 3 hits on the day and had 2 RBI and a run scored. Brady Klehr, Ryan Gouldin, and Isaac Bonner each had 2 hits. Bonner and Gouldin each scored 2 runs and Bonner had 2 RBI. David Swanson and Ben Serie each had 1 hit as well. Overall, USF had 15 hits, 10 RBI, 3 walks, 5 strikeouts, and 11 left on base.

The Cougars are back in action on Wednesday. They will take on Minnesota State in a doubleheader starting at 1:30PM out at Sioux Falls Stadium.
