Bismarck, N.D. - The University of Sioux Falls Baseball team lost a pair of games to UMary today. The Marauders took game 1 13-2 and game 2 14-4.
GAME 1 - L 13-2
Reese Gaber started for USF and lasted 2 innings. He gave up 6 hits and 7 earned runs. Grayson Skinner came on in relief and threw 1.0 inning and allowed 3 runs but none of them were earned. Dylan Immel threw an inning after Skinner and gave up 4 hits and 3 earned runs. Reid Barnard went 2.0 innings and did not allow a hit or a run and picked up 2 strikeouts.
At the plate, the Cougars were mostly held in check. USF had 4 hits and all of them came from different players. Ben Serie, Brady Klehr, and Wil Fisher each had a hit with Fisher recording 2 RBI and a run scored. Overall, USF had 4 hits, 2 RBI, 1 walk, 15 strikeouts, and 5 left on base.
GAME 2 - L 14-4
Brady Baur started on the mound for USF in game 2 and lasted 3.0 innings. He gave up 6 hits and 5 earned runs while recording 3 strikeouts. Mason Leonard came on in relief and threw 2.2 innings while only giving up 2 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 5. Zachary Shastay threw 0.1 innings after Leonard and gave up 2 earned runs. Jake Brandner also gave up 2 earned runs and 3 hits in his inning of work. Logan Anderson was the final Cougar pitcher used and he also allowed 2 earned runs and 3 hits.
At the plate, USF was led by Dane Small and Wil Fisher who each had 2 hits on the game. Small scored a run while Fisher scored a run and drove in 3. Ben Serie, Mitch Iliff, and Isaac Bonner each had a hit for USF as well. Overall, USF 7 hits, 4 RBI, 5 walks, 9 strikeouts, and 7 left on base.
