USF Tennis Earns Highest NSIC Preseason Ranking in DII Era

Cougars ranked 3rd in the NSIC going into the 2025 season

BURNSVILLE, MINN. - The NSIC released their 2025 NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll yesterday with USF Tennis earning their highest ranking in the NCAA DII era. Following a 12-8, 6-3 NSIC season in 2024, the Cougars are slated 3rd in this seasons preseason rankings.

The preseason coaches' poll is based off each coach ranking each team with the top team receiving 9 points, second 8, third 7, etc. 

The 2025 NSIC Women's Tennis season gets underway on Friday, January 31 with non-conference action. The 2025 NSIC Women's Tennis Tournament will consist of the top six teams in the final NSIC standings competing in a single elimination format on April 25-27 at Huether Family Match Pointe in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  New this season, with the six-team format, the top two teams in the final standings will receive a first round bye in the NSIC Tournament.  

Head coach Kevin Grebin on the upcoming season: "Our depth and strength at both the singles and doubles positions, combined with the addition of talented and hardworking freshmen, give us great confidence heading into the season. We have a strong mix of experienced upperclassmen providing leadership and fresh new talent bringing energy and excitement to the team. The dedication and commitment our players have shown in training and competition make us optimistic about achieving great results this year. We are looking forward to a highly competitive and rewarding season for USF Tennis."
Preseason Player to Watch
Sydney Osburn was selected as this preseasons player to watch for the Cougars. During her 2023-24 outing, Osburn recorded a singles record of 10-7 and a doubles record of 10-7 with partner Ella Hancock.

"Sydney brings s very positive and supportive attitude to our tennis team," stated Grebin. "Her devotion and kindness to each of her teammates is such an important factor in the team's culture, and her leadership and caring by example both on and off the court is why our team is what it is."

USF Tennis will begin there season tomorrow, February 1st, as they take on St. Thomas at 5:30pm in St. Paul, Minnesota.
