BURNSVILLE, Minn. – After a standout performance at the USF Invitational, Charlie Hanson has been named the NSIC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.

The freshman from Morris, Minnesota, captured individual medalist honors at the USF Invitational, finishing 1-under-par (143) across two rounds at Grand Falls Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa. Hanson opened the tournament with a 4-under 68, matching the lowest round of the event, before carding a 75 in challenging weather conditions on the final day to edge the 72-player field.

Hanson tallied eight total birdies over the two rounds, helping the Cougar "A" squad secure a fourth-place team finish among 14 teams.

The victory marks Hanson's first collegiate win and his first career NSIC weekly honor.

USF Men's Golf will next compete at the Tulsa Cup where the Cougars will wrap up their fall slate.
