SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – In front of a crowd of 5,433 at Bob Young Field, the University of Sioux Falls football team (3-3, 2-3 NSIC) came up just short in a 29-28 heartbreaker against No. 8 Augustana (6-0, 5-0 NSIC) in the annual Key to the City rivalry game.
First Half
After a scoreless opening quarter, Bubba Tann III punched in a 21-yard touchdown to give the Cougars a 7-3 lead in the second quarter.
Tann added another score late in the half—a 24-yard rush that capped a 63-yard drive—to send the Cougars into halftime with a 14-3 advantage.
Offensive Explosion
USF continued to roll in the third quarter. Camden Dean connected with Hank Brown Jr. on a 20-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 21-10. Moments later, Brown found the end zone again—this time on the ground—with a 13-yard rushing score that gave the Cougars a 28-10 cushion with just over six minutes remaining in the third.
Late Rally by the Vikings
Augustana responded with 19 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to steal the win. A 16-yard touchdown pass from Richard Lucero Jr. to Breylon Blount narrowed the gap, followed by a 52-yard field goal and a 24-yard touchdown connection from Lucero to Isaiah Huber with just over a minute to play. A successful two-point conversion secured the 29-28 victory for the Vikings.

Tann III led the ground game with 122 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.

Brown Jr. recorded a career day with 12 receptions for 138 yards and two total touchdowns (one receiving, one rushing).

Dean finished 21-of-34 for 219 yards and one touchdown through the air while adding 75 rushing yards.

The Cougars outgained Augustana 499-333 in total offense, including a 280-102 advantage on the ground
Defensive Leaders
USF's defense forced one turnover as Garret Hoffman came up with an interception. London Kolb led the charge with seven tackles, three tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks, while Mouhamed Diawara added 1.5 sacks of his own.
