Cougars Take Down Bemidji State to Open Weekend Home Stand

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls Volleyball team extended its strong NSIC run with a 3-1 victory (24-26, 25-15, 25-21, 25-12) over Bemidji State tonight inside the Stewart Center. With the win, the Cougars improve to 14-9 overall and 9-6 in NSIC play, picking up their fifth win in the last six matches.


Match Summary

After dropping a close first set, Sioux Falls stormed back to win the next three behind a balanced offensive attack and dominant serving performance. The Cougars racked up 15 service aces—their most in an NSIC match this season tying a program single match record—and hit an impressive .359 as a team while holding Bemidji State to .255.

The turning point came in the fourth set when USF used a 10-2 run to take control. From there, the Cougars maintained their momentum, combining efficiency on offense with timely blocks to close out the Beavers in four sets.


Cougar Leaders

  • Sadie Voss delivered another all-around performance with 15 kills, 20 digs, and three service aces, leading the Cougars with 18.5 total points.

  • Tatum Godinez followed with 13 kills on .355 hitting, while Ella Walker was perfect at the net with 11 kills and a .550 attack percentage.

  • Haley Wolfe and Courtney Holsteen added seven kills while Wolfe tied the team lead with three blocks, while Abby Haus chipped in six kills and two blocks.

  • Setters Elise Gillen and Liz Kopp combined for 45 assists and six service aces, guiding a balanced offensive rhythm.

  • Maci Lerseth contributed 15 digs, three aces, and seven assists, while Gretchen Volk added five digs and an ace from the back row.

As a unit, the Cougars tallied 54 digs, six total blocks, and their second straight match hitting above .350, continuing to showcase one of their most complete stretches of the season.
