BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released its first installment of the 2025–26 NSIC All-Sports Standings following the completion of the fall championship season, with the University of Sioux Falls sitting sixth overall and positioned ninth in the women's standings and sixth in the men's race as winter competition approaches.
The standings reflect results across five fall sports (M/W Cross Country, W Soccer, Football & Volleyball), with points awarded based on championship finishes. Minnesota State leads the overall table with 68.0 points, followed by Augustana (59.0), while USF collected 41.5 points to land in the top half of the conference heading into the winter season.
USF's Fall Positioning
Overall Standings – 6th Place (41.5 Points)
USF closes the fall season just half a point behind fifth-place Wayne State (42.0) and within striking distance of the top four. The Cougars sit ahead of Concordia-St. Paul (40.0), UMary (40.0), and MSU Moorhead (38.5) as the conference transitions to winter.
Men's Standings – 6th Place (16.0 Points)
The Cougar men rank sixth, paced by strong fall performances to sit just one point back of Winona State (17.0). Augustana leads the men's standings with 28.0 points.

About the NSIC Scoring System
Each conference champion earns points equal to the number of competing teams plus one, with subsequent finishers earning descending totals. Ties result in the distribution of averaged points. The standings will be updated again after the winter season, with the NSIC All-Sports Champion formally crowned following the spring championship season at the NSIC Hall of Fame banquet in July.
Historical Context
Minnesota State enters the year as the two-time defending overall champion and has won five of the last six NSIC All-Sports titles. Augustana has claimed nine all-sports championships since 2010, while Winona State and Minnesota Duluth dominated the early years of the award.
USF aims to build on its strong fall results with winter sports—including basketball, wrestling, indoor track & field, and swimming—now underway.
