INDIANOLA, IOWA – USF Women's Wrestling competed in the 2025 NCWWC Region VII Championships today securing two NCWWC National Qualifiers and seven place winners. Freshman, Lanna Walter, and sophomore, Zoe Adam will represent The Coo at the NCWWC National Championships March 7-8 in Coralville, Iowa.
103 – Ava McNeal opened the day with an 8-5 decision over Simpson's Gracie Waage before falling to Iowa's #2 Rianne Murphy in the semifinal. She advanced through the consolation bracket with a bye but dropped a rematch against Waage in the third-place match and later fell to Wartburg's Carissa Hersom by pin in the fourth-place match. McNeal finished the day 1-3 to finish the season 9-11.
110 – Paw Hobza finished the day 1-3 with a sixth-place finish to close out the year 6-13. After receiving a bye in the opening round, Hobza fell to Simpson's Layla Phillips in the quarterfinals but rebounded with a dominant 39-second pin over Augustana's Jo Orozco in the consolation bracket. She then fell to Simpson's Sarah Zimmerman in the consolation semifinal and Wartburg's Hope Chiattello in the fifth-place match.
117 – After receiving a bye in the first round, Rei Ogden fell to Wartburg's #17 Afftynn Stusse by tech fall in the quarterfinals. She bounced back with a dominant 52-second pin over Cornell College's Cheyenne Mulford before facing teammate Lanna Walter in the next round, where she dropped a hard-fought 13-8 decision to finish 1-2 on the day and 19-12 on the year.
117 – Lanna Walter put together an impressive run going 4-2 on the day and finishing in fourth place. After an early setback against Augsburg's Gisele Gallegos, Walter fought through the consolation bracket with a pin over Buena Vista's Evelyn Kramer and a hard-fought 13-8 decision over teammate Rei Ogden. She later fell to Wartburg's #19 Jasmine Luedtke but rebounded with a dominant tech fall over Augustana's Liz Ramirez and a 1:59 pin over Wartburg's #17 Afftynn Stusse in the fourth-place match. Walter will make her first national championship appearance and moves to 14-11 on the year.
124 – Paige Denke (10-12) faced a challenging opening match against Simpson's #14 Ashley Cannon, falling by tech fall. After receiving a bye in the first round of consolations, she went head-to-head with teammate Teila Peters in a competitive match but came up short in a 10-7 decision while closing out her season 10-12 on the season.
124 – Teila Peters finished the day 1-2 to close out the season 17-11. After receiving a bye in the opening round, Peters fell to Augustana's Sandie Pfeil in the quarterfinals. She rebounded with a hard-fought 10-7 decision over teammate Paige Denke but was ultimately stopped by Wartburg's Ayane Jasinski, who won by fall in the third round of consolations.
131 – Mackenzie Armagost finished the day with a fifth place finish while going 2-2 on the day. After an early loss to Augustana's Moni Griffin, Armagost battled through the consolation bracket, earning a 1:20 pin over Augsburg's Hannah Wigern. She later fell to Simpson's Dionni Garcia-Vasquez in the consolation semifinal but rebounded with a 3:45 pin over Wartburg's Khylie Wainwright in the fifth-place match. Armagost finishes her season with a record of 20-15.
138 – Diann Smith finished 2-2 on the day with a fifth-place performance. After an early setback against Simpson's #15 Paige Gershmel, Smith rebounded with a dominant 32-second pin over Dubuque's Mattie Papenthien in the consolation rounds. She later fell to Augsburg's #9 Nina Makem but secured another quick pin, defeating Augsburg's Kelsey Cruz in just 42 seconds to claim fifth place and finish 13-14 on the year.
145 – Ciana Grate went 0-2 on the day to finish 10-16 on the season. After receiving a bye in the opening round, Grate fell to Iowa's #1 Macey Kilty by tech fall in the quarterfinals. In the consolation bracket, she battled but was pinned by Central College's Madilyn Rowson at 1:38.
145 – Addaly Pals-Miller went 0-2 on the day finishing 8-17 on the year. Pals-Miller fell to Simpson's Noa Arnold by pin in the opening round before receiving a bye in the consolation bracket. In her next match, she was pinned by Dubuque's Tatum Levendahl in 18 seconds.
160 - Kylie Hulse put together a strong performance finishing 3-2 on the day before an injury cut her run short, finishing in sixth place. Hulse opened with a dominant 17-second pin over Cornell College's Kaylynn Sparks before falling to Dubuque's #8 Alexandra Hofrichter by tech fall in the quarterfinals. She rebounded with a pin over teammate Aliyah Villarreal and a hard-fought 9-8 decision over Wartburg's Alex Harswick. Unfortunately, an injury default in the consolation semifinal and a medical forfeit in the fifth-place match ended her tournament early. Hulse finished the season with a record of 14-7.
160 – Aliyah Villarreal fell to Simpson's#19 Breanna Wier by pin in the opening round before receiving a bye in the consolation bracket. In her next match, she battled against teammate Kylie Hulse but was pinned at 1:21. Villarreal finished the year 2-7.
207 – Zoe Adam finished 4th going 2-2 on the day to advance to her second NCWWC National Championship appearance. After a narrow 7-6 quarterfinal loss to Wartburg's #9 Rewa Chababo, Adam battled through the consolation bracket, dominating Buena Vista's Magalie Mogiga with a tech fall and securing a 6-3 decision over Simpson's Morgan Miller in the consolation semifinal. In the third-place match, she faced #9 Chababo again but fell in an 8-0 decision. Adam holds a season record of 15-12.

Walter and Adam will head to the NCWWC National Championships in Coralville, Iowa March 7-8 inside Xtream Arena.
