CLERMONT, FLA. - The University of Sioux Falls (7-7, 0-0 NSIC) Softball team extended its winning streak to five games, dominating Clarion 12-0 in a five-inning run-rule victory before holding off Ashland in a 7-6 thriller. The Cougars showcased power hitting, speed on the bases, and strong pitching performances in both matchups.
GAME 1: SIOUX FALLS 12, CLARION 0 (5 Innings)
The Cougars erupted for six runs in the second inning and never looked back, finishing the game with three home runs. Maddi Duncan (4-3) and Hannah Strickland combined for a one-hit shutout, while Savanna Isaacson and Jaeleigh Darnell each went yard with Darnell tallying two homers for The Coo.

Trailing 2-0 entering the sixth, the Cougars exploded for four runs before adding three more in the seventh to secure the win. Jaeleigh Darnell delivered a clutch three-run home run after a controversial home run call in the fourth erased two runs for USF, while Maddi Duncan came in to shut the door and earn the save following an impressive outting by Lauryn Foudree (3-2).
