USF Baseball Lands Four on NSIC All-Conference List

BURNSVILLE, MINN. – The University of Sioux Falls Baseball Team earned well-deserved recognition as four standout student-athletes were honored with postseason awards from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).

Jaxon Haase and Isaac Bonner were both named to the NSIC All-Conference Second Team while Bonner joined Noah Christenson and Nolan Drossel on the NSIC All-Defensive Team.

At the plate, Haase posted a .275 batting average while slugging .649, tallying 36 hits, 8 doubles, and 13 home runs. He also drove in 38 runs while crossing the dish 38 times and was 5-for-6 on stolen base attempts. Defensively, he holds a .956 fielding percentage while recording 97 putouts and 33 assists between first and third base.

Bonner added key production on both sides of the ball, batting .350 with a .565 slugging percentage. He registered 62 hits including 11 doubles, three triples and 7 home runs, and led the Coo with 48 RBIs. Bonner drew 25 walks to boost his on-base contributions while scoring 39 runs and going 11-for-12 in stolen bases. Defensively, Bonner has compiled a .984 fielding percentage with 75 putouts and 114 assists all while teaming up with shortstop, Noah Christenson, for 22 double plays.

Christenson brought valuable experience to the middle infield boasting a .966 fielding percentage with 69 putouts and 131 assists along with 26 turned double plays. At the plate, he holds a .299 batting average across 184 at-bats with 55 hits including 11 doubles, two triples and two home runs. Christenson has crossed the plate 36 times while recording 35 RBIs and going 9-for-12 in stolen bases.

Drossel held down the outfield with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage along with 90 putouts and six assists. Offensively, Drossel holds a .339 batting average with 60 hits, nine doubles and a triple. He's crossed the plate 45 times while recording 16 RBIs across 177 at-bats and going 10-for-13 in stolen bases.

With four Cougars earning postseason accolades, USF Baseball continues to rise in the NSIC. The Cougars look to open the NSIC Championships tomorrow as the No. 4-seed taking on the No. 5-seed St. Cloud State Huskies at 12pm at Ronken Field.
