SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Addison Van Zee recorded her first collegiate hat trick to lead Sioux Falls to a 4-0 victory over Minnesota Crookston Friday night at Bob Young Field. The win marked the Cougars' first NSIC victory of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cougars carried the run of play throughout, breaking through in the 26th minute when Addison Van Zee finished off one of several early chances. After taking the 1-0 lead into halftime, USF turned the match into a decisive result behind a dominant second half.
Van Zee struck again in the 65th minute and completed her hat trick in the 84th to put the game out of reach. Just three minutes later, sophomore Sadie Hunter netted her first career goal in the 87th minute to cap the 4-0 scoreline.
Defensively, Sioux Falls stayed composed, limiting the Golden Eagles to just four total shots. Goalkeeper Morgan Jost collected three saves and secured her second shutout of the season.

"Addi takes the spotlight for her hat trick and deserves those plaudits, but that was the epitome of a team performance," said head coach Joe DeMay. "We had a clear idea of what we wanted to do and everyone played their part to execute the game plan and influence the result. Wins in this league are hard fought and you have to earn every one. We can enjoy a great night and go to sleep on clean sheets, but we need to get back to work tomorrow to earn the next."
