SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls Men's Wrestling team earned a home victory on Friday night inside the Stewart Center, defeating the Jamestown Jimmies 28–16. The Cougars used a strong middle stretch of the lineup to seize control of the dual, picking up bonus points in four bouts to pull away and secure the win.
Sioux Falls vs. Jamestown
Jamestown grabbed early momentum with wins at 125 and 133 pounds, but the Cougars quickly answered back at 141 when Beau Beavers earned a forfeit to get USF on the board. From there, Sioux Falls began to find its rhythm, winning five of the next six bouts to swing the dual firmly in its favor.
The turning point came between 149 and 174 pounds, where the Cougars strung together key victories. Sonny Lora battled through a sudden-victory decision at 149 before Cooper Sanders delivered a first-period pin at 157. Lincoln Fink followed with a dominant major decision, and Ashtin Johnson capped the run with a composed decision win at 174. A heavyweight forfeit to close the night sealed the team result as USF finished strong in front of the home crowd.
