Steven Brown shattered his own school record in the 10,000-meter run at the Mt. SAC Relays on Thursday night. Brown is joined by men's teammates

Pitted against a deep field with top NCAA Division I and II runners, Brown posted the first-sub 30 minute 10k in program history. Running in his home state, the Orangevale, Calif. native clocked a 29:54.61, finishing 16th, and seventh among NCAA Division II runners. Brown's previous record was 30:21.36, set at the Mt. SAC relays in 2017.
With his time from Thursday night, Brown reached the NCAA provisional qualifying standard and ranks in the top 10 of NCAA Division II runners, second among Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference runners.
USF Track & Field will continue its busy weekend with pole vaulters in action Friday afternoon at the Kansas Relays, mid-distance runners continuing competition in California, and the rest of the squad heading to Orange City, Iowa for the Red Raider Open on Friday and Saturday.
