VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The University of Sioux Falls track & field program closed the indoor season with two All-America performances at the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, held March 13–14 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.

Senior Tamia Horton and junior Jonny Cheney each earned All-American honors for the Cougars, highlighting USF's national championship appearance. Horton secured First Team All-America honors in the women's 60 meters, while Cheney earned Second Team All-America recognition in the men's heptathlon.

Horton capped a historic indoor season with a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter final, clocking 7.39 to earn three team points and First Team All-America honors. The senior qualified for the final after running 7.43 in the preliminary round before delivering another strong performance against the nation's top sprinters.

Cheney delivered an impressive all-around effort in the men's heptathlon, finishing 11th overall with 5,106 points to earn Second Team All-America honors. His performance was highlighted by strong marks across the seven events, including a personal-best 7.16 in the 60 meters, 8.34 in the 60-meter hurdles, and a first-place finish in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:42.91. Cheney also cleared 1.91 meters in the high jump and added solid performances in the long jump and shot put during the two-day competition.

Junior Andrew Edwards represented the Cougars in the men's weight throw, finishing 17th nationally with a mark of 18.88 meters (61-11.5). Edwards qualified for the national meet after posting multiple NCAA provisional marks during the indoor season.

"I'm extremely proud of our student-athletes and coaches for the work they put in throughout the indoor season," said head coach Eric Chilson. "Coming away with two NCAA All-Americans is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to their dedication and preparation. We're excited to build on that success and carry this momentum into the outdoor season."
