SIOUX FALLS – University of Sioux Falls Men's Head Basketball Coach
Chris Johnson has announced the signing of Jack Thompson, a 6-2, 170 pound guard from Eagan, Minn., who will continue his academic and athletic career with the Cougars in the fall of 2019.

Thompson is the second addition to the 2019 signing class. Earlier, USF inked Jake Kettner, a 6-4, 185 pound guard from Minnesota Valley Lutheran.
"We are really excited to add Jack to the Coo family, " said Johnson. "He has played for very good high school and AAU programs and has been successful. He will bring a toughness, intelligence and shooting abilities to our backcourt. We feel that Jack is a great fit for our program, university and community and are excited to get to work with him during his career at USF," added Johnson.
The son of Craig and Lisa Thompson, he is currently averaging 19.4 points, 4.0 assists, 6.5 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game at St. Thomas Academy. Thompson, who recently surpassed 1,000 points in his career, is a two-time all-conference selection for the Cadets. A team captain, Thompson has led his team to the Minnesota State AAA Tournament twice. As a junior, he averaged 11.4 points a game while leading the team in assists (about four a game) plus grabbing 3.2 rebounds. Thompson shot 48.5 percent from the field and made 35.4 percent on three point field goals. At USF, Thompson, who played AAU ball with the Minnesota Comets, plans to study business.
The USF Men's Basketball Team (13-5, 8-4 NSIC) sits in second in the NSIC South with road games at Upper Iowa and Winona State on Jan. 25-26.
Located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the University of Sioux Falls is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
