Madson, Ingwerson Represent USF on NSIC All-Conference Teams

2/26/2026 10:30:00 AM

BURNSVILLE, Minn. — The University of Sioux Falls men's basketball program placed two student-athletes on the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference all-conference teams, highlighted by freshman guard Brogan Madson earning First Team All-NSIC and NSIC Newcomer of the Year honors, while junior forward Kyle Ingwerson was named Second Team All-NSIC.

The recognition reflects both the emergence of a dynamic freshman star and the steady leadership of one of the league's premier perimeter threats.

Madson Makes Immediate Impact

Madson turned in one of the most impressive freshman campaigns in the NSIC this season.

The 6-foot-1 guard started all 22 conference games and averaged 20.9 points per game, totaling 459 points in NSIC play while logging 31.1 minutes per contest. He shot 47.1 percent from the field (147-of-312), 33.6 percent from three-point range (40-of-119), and 70.2 percent from the free-throw line (125-of-178).

Madson scored 20 or more points in 12 conference games and averaged 2.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. His signature moments included a career-high 45-point explosion against Wayne State and a 31-point performance at Augustana, earning him NABC/D2CIDA Division II National Player of the Week honors and two NSIC South Division Player of the Week selections.

Head coach Chris Johnson emphasized Madson's competitive drive and ceiling.

"Brogan has had an immediate impact on the floor as a true freshman," Johnson said. "His ability to not only score, but set up his teammates has been a huge part of our team. He's tough, he plays hard, and he competes as hard as anyone in the league. He's deserving of both honors, and he's just scratching the surface of what he can be in this league."

Ingwerson's Consistency and Leadership

While Madson powered the offense, Ingwerson provided critical spacing, rebounding, and veteran presence throughout conference play.

The 6-foot-6 junior started 19 games and appeared in 21 of 22 NSIC contests, averaging 31.9 minutes per game. He posted 13.8 points per game (289 total points) and ranked second on the team in rebounding at 5.1 per contest.

Ingwerson shot 41.1 percent from three-point range (58-of-141), establishing himself as one of the top perimeter shooters in the league. He also shot 39.7 percent from the field and 79.5 percent from the free-throw line, while adding 10 blocks and 15 steals in conference action.

"Kyle is one of the best shooters in the league and with that creates a lot of space on the floor for our guards to penetrate," Johnson said. "He's taken on more leadership this year for this young team, and he is very deserving of this honor."
