SIOUX FALLS- The University of Sioux Falls soccer squad, led by head coach Brittany Domino, are coming off one of the best wins in program history and will look to continue against two powerful opponents in No. 22 Concordia-St. Paul and (RV) Minnesota State on Friday and Sunday, respectively. The Cougars are members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and NCAA Division II.

No. 22 Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears (7-0-2, 4-0-2 NSIC):
The Golden Bears, directed by ninth-year head coach Steve Bellis, are 7-0-2 overall, including a 4-0-2 record in NSIC play. The Golden Bears went a perfect 3-0 in non-conference play, outscoring their opponents 7-2. The Golden Bears started conference action with a scoreless tie with Upper Iowa. In their next four matches, the Golden Bears have taken with ease, before their last match with UMary which was yet another scoreless tie for the Golden Bear.
Leading the Golden Bears offensively is Leah Johnson and Hannah Peterson. Both have recorded 11 points, with Johnson scoring four goals and assisted three more goals.Peterson has scored three goals and five assists.
(RV) Minnesota State Mavericks (7-2-0, 4-2-0 NSIC):
The Mavericks, under seventh-year head coach Brian Bahl, maintain a record of 7-2-0 overall, 4-2-0 in NSIC action. The Mavericks started the season with a 6-0 win over Missouri Southern before handing the No. 5 Central Missouri Jennies and No. 3 Grand Valley State Lakers their only loss of the season.
The Mavericks started NSIC play with convincing road wins against Winona State and Upper Iowa, but followed it up with a stretch of three games where the Mavericks needed a second overtime to beat Minnesota Duluth at home, a double overtime home loss to St. Cloud State, and a 2-1 upset from UMary in Bismarck, N.D. The Mavericks were able to end the skid with a 5-2 win over Minot State. Before the Cougars head to Mankato, the Mavericks will face the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs on Friday.
The Mavericks have had 11 goals from Brynn Dessens (six goals-eight assists) and Jenny Vetter (five goals-three assists).
Sioux Falls Cougars (2-6-1, 2-3-1 NSIC):
The Cougars hold a record of 2-6-1 overall, 2-3-1 in NSIC matches. Despite the record, the Cougars have shown signs of in-season improvements with each match. The Cougars got their first win on the season against MSU Moorhead when freshman Alexis Naujokaitis hit a second-chance shot for the 1-0 victory over the Dragons. Before that match was a match against a strong Augustana team that ended in a hard-fought scoreless tie. Their second win of the season was one of the best performances by the Cougars in program history, beating the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles 4-1.
Six Cougars have scored a goal, with senior Lily McKown leading the way with a goal, assist, and 10 shots (seven shots on goal). In the net, the Cougars have lead more to freshman Alexis Wemhoff who has played 531 minutes. Wemhoff has allowed five goals while saving 37 shots.
