SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls Tennis Team (0-2, 0-2 NSIC) will look to get on the winning track as they face Bemidji State (3-2, 1-1 NSIC) and Minnesota Crookston (0-3, 0-2 NSIC) on Saturday (Feb. 16) in Bemidji, Minn. The Cougars will face BSU at 3 p.m. and immediately play UMC when that match concludes.
This past weekend, the Cougars dropped a 7-0 decision to MSU Moorhead and then lost a heart-breaker to U-Mary, 4-3 as they fell to 0-2 overall and in league play. Against U-Mary, USF lost two-of-three doubles matches which proved the difference as the two squads split the six singles matches in the 4-3 setback.
After one of its most successful seasons (11-7 overall, 7-4 in the NSIC) in 2017-18 at the DII level, USF was picked fifth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll. Redshirt sophomore
Chloe Jefferies was named the "Player to Watch" for USF. This season the Cougars have opened with a 3-9 overall singles mark and stand 1-5 in doubles in the two NSIC matches.

Chloe Jefferies, who put together the best season by a USF Women's Tennis player in the NCAA DII era with a 14-3 mark and 10-1 in the NSIC, has opened 0-2 with a pair of close losses. She stands 14-5 overall and 10-3 all-time in NSIC play in her career at USF.
At No. 2 singles, sophomore
Megan Quandt is 1-1 after a straight set victory against U-Mary. She is now 3-17 in her career and 2-11 in league play.
At No. 3 singles, sophomore
Lexi Miller is 0-2 on the season and now has a 9-10 overall mark with a 7-6 NSIC record.
Newcomer Victoria Ambrosia-Cueto opened her career with a three-set victory against U-Mary to move to 1-0 at No. 4 singles.

Thorfinnson moved to 1-1 on the season with a 6-3, 6-3 verdict against Kali
Askvig of U-Mary. She is now 12-7 in her career in singles with an 8-5 league mark. At No. 5, she is now 9-5 with a 3-2 mark at No. 4.
At No. 6 singles, sophomore
Kelsie Sanders is 0-1 on the season and 10-17 overall, including 4-11 in league play. At No. 6,
Rachel Klatt is 2-3 overall and 2-3 in NSIC play. She is 0-2 this season.
In doubles, USF's Jefferies and Miller have opened the season 0-2. The tandem didn't pair up a year ago when Jefferies was 11-7 in doubles and now stands 11-9 in her career. Miller was 9-9 a year ago and now stands 9-11.
Megan Quandt and Ambrosia-Cueto opened 0-2 in doubles as a duo which leaves Quandt with a 10-10 career mark. Klatt is 1-1 this year and is now 13-7 in her career in doubles.
