USF Head Coach Kevin Grebin announces signings of Peyton Forney and Allison Eichacker

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- University of Sioux Falls Tennis Coach Kevin Grebin has announced that student-athletes Allison Eichacker of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Peyton Forney of Rapid City, S.D., have signed and will continue their athletic and academic careers at USF.

The signings of Eichacker and Forney, who will begin classes next fall, are contingent upon admission to USF and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.

"I am honored and pleased to add Allison (Eichacker) and Peyton (Forney) to a talented and young team" said Grebin, who squad will open the season on Feb. 9 against MSU Moorhead. "Both Allison and Peyton excel in both singles and doubles which will add not only quality but flexibility to our roster. Both of them are outstanding student-athletes, who will contribute to our team, and this campus in a multitude of ways," he said.

Peyton Forney
Peyton Forney, Rapid City, S.D./Stevens HS
The daughter of John and Heather Forney, Peyton Forney starred in tennis at Rapid City Stevens High School. Last fall, she played No. 1 singles with a 20-15 record for Stevens and qualified for the AA Tournament for the fourth straight year. At No. 1 doubles, she had a mark of 29-6 and placed third at the AA Tournament. She helped lead Stevens High School, directed by head coach Jason Olson, to a second place finish in the team standings at the AA State Tourney. She was a flight two doubles champion in 2016 at the state tournament as she earned all-tournament honors. At Stevens High, Forney earned the honor as the "Most Dedicated" player. Her brother Connor also attended USF. At USF, Forney will study chemistry/pre-med.

Allison Eichacker


Allison Eichacker, Sioux Falls, S.D./Roosevelt HS
The daughter of Keith and Dawn Eichacker of Sioux Falls, S.D., Allison Eichacker was a standout at Sioux Falls Roosevelt for coach Terry Grove. As a senior she placed sixth at the state tournament at No. 1 singles. Eichacker, who also played at No. 1 doubles, was named team MVP. Eichacker added to the state tourney in doubles. She has a brother, Jack. At USF, she plans to student nursing.   

Forney and Eichacker join a USF Tennis Team that was 11-7 a year ago with a 7-4 mark in NSIC play for fourth place. The Cougars, which were picked fifth in the NSIC Coaches Preseason Poll in 2019, tied the school's DII-best mark for league wins and reached the NSIC Postseason Tourney for the fourth time in five seasons.
