USF Men's BB Head Coach Chris Johnson announces signing of guard John Henry

SIOUX FALLS – University of Sioux Falls Men's Basketball Head Coach Chris Johnson has announced the signing of 6-5 guard John Henry of Eden Prairie, Minn., who will continue his academic and athletic career at USF. He joins 6-3 guard Jack Cartwright of Sioux Falls, S.D., in the 2020 USF recruiting class.

"We are really excited to add John Henry to the USF family.  He will bring great size and shooting ability to our guard position," said Johnson. "John has played for a great high school program (Eden Prairie) that is currently undefeated and ranked #1 in the state of Minnesota.  Coach (David) Flom has done a great job getting John and many others ready for the college level.  We believe that he will be able to have a great impact on our culture, on the floor and off, we are so excited that he has chosen to be a Cougar," said Johnson.

Henry has helped lead No. 1 Eden Prairie HS to a 16-0 record by averaging 13.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. A standout from three-point range, he has hit 42-of-94 for 44.7 percent. In addition, he is hitting 85 percent from the foul line and 68-of-137 (49.6 percent) from the field. A returning all-league player, he is part of a program which has qualified for the Minnesota State Basketball Tournament in back-to-back seasons.

He joins a USF Men's Basketball Team which at 15-5 overall is off to the best start by the Cougars in DII program history. The Cougars, which travel to Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston, this weekend, leads the NSIC South at 11-3.
