NORFOLK, Va. – For the fourth straight year, the University of Sioux Falls Women' Swimming Team has had student-athletes named Scholar All Americans, according to an
announcement today by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (
CSCAA).
Last week,
USF earned a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Award for a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The USF Women's Team, which placed third at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships, registered a GPA of 3.71. Today, USF had three student-athletes named Scholar-All Americans and six named honorable mention Scholar All-Americans.

The three student-athletes named first team Scholar All-America athletes included three-time honoree
Chantal Kasch (junior, Stade, Germany, psychology and criminal justice); second-time honoree
Elizabeth Spaans (sophomore, Brandon, S.D.,
Elizabeth Spaans
psychology and social work); and first-time honoree
Jenna Krahn (junior, Johnston, Iowa, exercise science).
Honorable mention (second team) selections included
Ursula Demarquet (freshman, Guayaquil, Ecuador, art);
Leah Eagleton (senior, Auckland, New Zealand, exercise science);
Nina Groene (junior, Mannheim, Germany, mathematics);
Giulia Fazza Marcon (junior, Juiz De Fora, Brazil, psychology); Evelyn Van De Mark (junior, Alma, Mich., psychology and exercise science); and
Kyjana Webber (senior, Gulfport, Miss., psychology). Marcon earned her second academic honor after being named Scholar All-America a year ago.

In four seasons, USF Swimming, now under the direction of second-year Head Coach Chris
Hamstra, has had 17 Scholar All-America athletes and nine other student-athletes named honorable mention Scholar All-America honors.
The CSCAA named 1,479 swimmers and divers from 209 colleges/universities to the Scholar All-American Team for the 2019-20 season. The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championships. In addition, 97 programs had honorable mention Scholar All-Americans (second team) after achieving a GPA of 3.50, a "B" time standard or competed at an NCAA Regional or Zone Diving qualifier.
