"Our 2022 signing class will drastically change the culture of USF Volleyball. Everyone in this group is a true volleyball player – the fire burns hot in all of them," said Mathews, whose USF team wraps up the regular season on Nov. 12-13 at home. "They carry themselves with an energy that screams self-confidence. They have an eagerness to compete that a coach alone cannot instill in a player. They have an enthusiasm for training that is going to make every practice intense. Most importantly, they are a group of kind people who are team-oriented," said Mathews.

"She plays with a grittiness and intensity that is nearly unmatched in her league. She carries a chip on her shoulder and is totally unfazed by any challenge. Four years later, I can hardly believe that she'll be playing for our team," said Mathews. "She has a smooth touch on the volleyball and it seems like the game happens more slowly for her than it does for the average player. In a split-second she understands what's happening, makes a clear judgement and executes a play," he said.

She has a genuine love for volleyball and a real interest about the inner workings of the game, especially as it relates to her position. She is a learner, and that goes farther in terms of development than any other marker of athleticism," said Mathews.

Sadie understands how to be an athlete and how to rise to the moment," he said.
