SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – William Kondrat, a 6-7 sophomore forward from the University of Albany, has transferred to the University of Sioux Falls where he will enroll and play in the men's basketball program, according to an announcement today by USF Head Men's Coach
Chris Johnson.
"We are excited to add Will (Kondrat) to the Coo Family. He's a versatile and athletic player who can play multiple positions in our system," said Johnson, whose program has won 81 games over the past five years with three seasons of 19 wins or more and an NSIC South title two years ago. "Will has played at a high-level and been part of winning programs. We believe he will really help us going forward and fits what we do here at the University of Sioux Falls," he said.
Kondrat sat out the 2020-21 season at the University of Albany after joining the program from Niagara County Community College, where he averaged double digits in points and shot the ball at a plus .500 clip. In his first year at Niagara County CC, Kondrat averaged 10.3 points and 4.1 rebounds in 2018-19 while shooting .509. In his second season, he averaged 14.3 points with 6.7 rebounds while hitting .573 from the field in 2019-20. As a sophomore, he was named to the 2020 First Team All-Region 3 and was named the MVP at both the Sheridan College Tournament and the Columbia Tipoff Classic.
While starring at Our Savior Lutheran High School as well as Abraham Lincoln High School, he was a three-time letter winner and team captain as a junior and senior. He helped lead Our Savior Lutheran to the 2018 AIPGAC championship. He was also part of the PSAL AA City and NYSSA state championship team with Abraham Lincoln High School in 2017.
The son of Jacqueline Barton, he has four sisters and will major in business at USF.
