SIOUX FALLS -- The University of Sioux Falls Head Tennis Coach
Kevin Grebin has announced the signing of Annika Randt of Glenwood, Minn., who will continue her academic and athletic career at USF.
Randt joins Emily Thinnsen of Huntington Beach, Calif.; Katelyn Nesheim of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Brianna Holm of Alexandria, Minn.; and Ella Schmidt of Eden Prairie, Minn., in USF's 2021 signing class.
"We want to welcome Annika (Randt) to our 2021 recruiting class," said Grebin. "A talented student-athlete she has had significant success in high school. We are pleased that she will join our team and is part of an outstanding signing class," added Grebin.
The daughter of Michal and Brad Randt, she was a two-sport standout at Minnewaska Area High School. Randt starred in tennis and basketball for the Lakers. In tennis, she was a team captain as a senior when she was named Academic All-State. From freshman through her senior year, Randt was selected to the West Central All Conference Team and also named to the West Central Conference All-Academic Team from eighth through the 12
th grade. She helped lead her team to the state tourney in 2019. While at Minnewaska Area High School, Randt was named to the High Honor Roll and was involved in FCA. Two of her cousins,
Danielle Thorfinnson and
Joelle Thorfinnson are members of the USF squad.
In 2021, the USF Tennis Team (7-6) advanced to the NSIC Tournament for the sixth time in seven years. The Cougars finished 7-4 in league play and earned the No. 6 seed in the league tourney.
