BURNSVILLE, MINN. – For second time in her stellar career, University of Sioux Falls Volleyball
Krista Goerger has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Setter of the Week in an announcement today (Monday, Sept. 20) by the league office.

Goerger, a senior from Mankato, Minn., totaled 71 set assists, seven kills on 16 attacks for a .375 hitting mark and added a service aces and 14 digs in leading USF to a sweep of Minnesota Crookston, 3-0, and Bemidji State, 3-0, on the road on Sept. 17-18. Against BSU, she had 33 assists, a block assist, service ace and hit .667 with three kills in four attacks while registering six digs, and a block as USF improved to 2-0 in the NSIC. Against UMC, she totaled 38 assists, a block, six digs, two block solos and three kills on 10 attacks as the Cougars picked up a win in their league opener on Sept. 17. In total she averaged 11.83 assists per set and helped USF hit an NSIC-best .453 as a team. As a result of this week's performance USF improved to 7-3 overall and sit 2-0 in league play.
Goerger, who became USF's first-ever volleyball First Team CoSIDA Academic All-American in summer of 2021, has pushed her USF record career assist total to 2,811. She has helped USF rank second in the league in hitting at .279 with 469 kills on 1,102 attacks (162 errors).
A three-time Academic All-NSIC and Academic Team of Excellence honoree, Goerger also earned NSIC Setter of the Week honors on Oct. 29, 2018 when she helped USF hit .456 and supplied 89 assists.
Selected in 2020 as the NSIC Elite 18 honoree for highest GPA among competing student-athletes in league, Goerger ranks 10
th in the NSIC with 9.56 assists per set with 344 on 36 sets played. She has 12 service aces for 0.33 per set.
In her career, she has played 300 sets across 88 matches, recorded 186 kills, landed 102 service aces, totaled 524 digs and 91 blocks in her career. In USF's DII history, she is second all-time in service aces with 102 (Makenna Rockeman, 2015-18, 209), and eighth in digs with 524 (Bria Barfnecht, 7
th, 570, 2015-18) in addition to ranking first in set assists (2,740).
She and her teammates will travel to face No. 8 Wayne State on Tuesday night at 6 pm before returning home to host No. 19 Minnesota Duluth at 6 pm on Friday, Sept. 24, and No. 20 St. Cloud State at 2 pm on Saturday, Sept. 25.
