Thuro Reisdorfer had a big day on his birthday on Saturday, Sept. 18 when the University of Sioux Falls Football Team (2-1) rolled to a 50-14 win over Concordia St. Paul at Bob Young Field. Then today, Reisdorfer earned the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 160 yards on 14 carries with three touchdowns.
A second team All-NSIC honoree in 2019, Reisdorfer picked up his first-ever NSIC Offensive Player of the Week honor. Against Concordia St. Paul, Reisdorfer averaged 11.4 yards per carry and had scoring runs of 18, 13 and 51 yards in the opening 22 minutes of the game. With those touchdowns, the Cougars won their second straight by opening a 31-7 halftime lead on their way to the 50-14 victory.
Reisdorfer, who rushed for 1,150 yards with 169 carries and 19 total TDs in 2019, now has 24 career TDs, including 18 rushing, and has rushed for 1,686 career yards. This season, he has three straight 100-yard plus rushing games and now has eight in his career. In 2021,
Reisdorfer has 52 carries for 434 yards with five TDs. He is averaging 8.3 yards per carry and 144.7 yards per game. He also has 488 all-purpose yards for 162.7 per game.
With Reisodorfer leading the way, USF ranks first in the NSIC with 269.0 yards rushing per game. The Cougars have 807 rushing yards and a 6.0 average per rush with eight TDs.
This week, USF will travel to face Northern State at 6:05 pm on Saturday, Sept. 25 in Aberdeen, S.D.
