SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The University of Sioux Falls Head Tennis Coach
Kevin Grebin has announced the signing of Jaelyn Haler of Butterfield, Minn., who will continue her academic and athletic career at USF.
Haler joins Ella Hancock of Jordan, Minn., and Sydney Osburn of Henderson, Nev. in USF's 2022-23 signing class.
"We are pleased that Jaelyn is part of our 2022-23 recruiting class," said Grebin. "An accomplished student-athlete in four sports, academics and service, she will be a great addition to our program at USF. She has had success throughout high school and will contribute greatly to the continued success of our tennis program," he said.
The daughter of Rory and Wynette Haler, she was a four-sport standout in tennis, softball, basketball and volleyball for St. James High School. In tennis, she played No. 1 singles as a senior and No. 2 singles as a junior. She was on the No. 1 doubles team from grades 8-10. A four-year letter winner and two-year team captain, she is a five-time all-conference honoree. She earned Academic Achievement honors three times and advanced to the state tournament three times.
In basketball, Haler lettered four years and earned Academic Achievement honors twice. As a standout in softball, she has lettered three times, earned Academic Achievement honors and was honorable mention all-conference. And in volleyball, she lettered in 2020. Also at St. James High School, Haler was a member of the A Honor Roll all throughout high school. She participates in the Youth Council and serves as president of the National Honor Society. In addition, she volunteers for the "Bettering Butterfield Committee."
Haler plans to follow a pre-occupational track at USF by majoring in exercise science with a minor in psychology. She has five siblings – Peyton, Wyatt, Keyana, Veyda and Calyn.
In 2021, the USF Tennis Team (7-6) advanced to the NSIC Tournament for the sixth time in seven years. The Cougars finished 7-4 in league play and earned the No. 6 seed in the league tourney.
