Burnsville – The NSIC announced their weekly Cross Country Athlete of the Week selection earlier today with USF senior David Ecker receiving the honor.
 
Ecker placed 12^th out of 213 runners at the Lewis Crossover this past weekend in Romeoville, Illinois. He completed the 8k in 24:25.68 with a 4:54.80 average mile in a highly competitive field of ranked DII teams. The senior posted the fastest time for an NSIC runner at the event and led the Cougars to an 8^th place finish.
 
The USF Men's Cross Country team has gotten off to a great start this season as they finished 4^th, 2^nd, and 3^rd in their first three meets. The 8^th place finish in Romeoville was also out of 19 strong teams. The Cougars will have one last meet before the NSIC Championships, the Mount Marty Invitational on October 22^nd.
