DAYTONA BEACH – The USF Women's Basketball team falls to 2-4 on the season with a 69-66 loss to (4-0) Embry-Riddle at the Bahama Shootout Classic in Dayton Beach, Florida.
WHAT HAPPENED
· USF fell to a 9-0 deficit to start the game, but pulled within two just before the end of the first half.
· Brecli Honner gave the Cougars their first lead of the game part way through the third going 2-2 from the free throw line.
· Sioux Falls saw their biggest lead in the fourth quarter when they led the Eagles 60-50 with 6:07 remaining.
SIOUX FALLS LEADERS
· Megan Fannin dropped a season high 20 points on the day followed by Olivia Gamoke with a career high 16 points and five rebounds.
· Madison Birnbaum led the Cougars in rebounding with a career high of eight on the day.
· Dallie Hoskinson put up a season high 14 points on the day along with six rebounds in today's match-up.
TEAM STATISTICS
· USF shot 21-55 from the field, 7-29 from downtown and 17-21 from the line against Embry-Riddle.
· Sioux Falls forced the Eagles to 18 turnovers on the day.
UP NEXT
Sioux Falls (2-4) will take on Flagler College (1-5) tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. Central in their final game of the Bahama Shootout Classic.
